Performance Marketer (Paid Media)

We’re building a highly efficient go-to-market model where anyone who wants to understand their customers can adopt, use, and scale Dovetail without any barriers or friction. The Growth team works to accelerate this go-to-market model by identifying opportunities to make impactful improvements for our customers and business. The team works to identify the clearest opportunities for business impact, and then works backwards from there to execute on the biggest customer problems they can solve.

Most of our growth has been fuelled by a product-led strategy where word-of-mouth and an engaged community of thousands of users have seen us expand to organizations like Shopify, VMware, GitLab, Canva, Atlassian – all with very little investment in paid acquisition. To help accelerate our growth and global reach, we’re now looking to bring on our first individual focused on developing paid acquisition as a channel from the ground up. As the first Performance Marketer, you’ll drive our global paid media strategy and create a predictable growth engine for acquisition.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive a full-funnel global paid media strategy. You’ll define and shape our paid acquisition strategy, driving acquisition and assessing the full-funnel impact of our paid channels on activation, conversion, and retention.

  • Experiment and test campaigns. You’ll design and execute on testing roadmaps to evolve new campaign strategies, measuring performance to achieve maximum returns in any paid spend.

  • Analyze, assess performance, and iterate. You’ll analyze performance results, and make recommendations for decisions across spend, targeting, bidding, creative, landing pages, and more.

  • Partner and collaborate cross-functionally. You are highly collaborative in your approach, and work closely with your counterparts across design, engineering, growth, and product.

  • Be a leader in your craft. You’ll stay abreast of industry best practices, channels, strategies, and identify new opportunities for growth. You have an understanding of the current privacy and security landscape and the impact on performance marketing strategies.

  • Join our Growth team. You’ll be a key member of the Growth team, and your work will be critical in developing paid as a new channel to impact our goals and be massive force-multipliers for our business.

Your background

  • Proven experience in managing paid digital campaigns on a large scale. You have several years hand-on experience and a highly proficient understanding of paid all social and programmatic platforms. You ideally have demonstrated experience creating and scaling a paid media program globally.

  • Understanding of performance marketing. You have a solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and customer acquisition, ideally in a high-volume B2B SaaS environment. Some working knowledge and/or past experience across other advertising channels such as SEM and affiliate marketing is a plus.

  • Experience with B2B SaaS products. You understand product-led and organic growth strategies for B2B SaaS products and seen their implementation them before, and how paid media can be an accelerant for growth.

  • Excellent communicator. Excellent, concise communication so you can easily convey your thoughts, opinions, and feelings with customers and teammates.

  • A great attitude. The right attitude towards a sense of urgency, risk, and uncertainty about the future that comes with working at an early-stage startup. This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting journey from the very start.

  • Pragmatism. You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, be resourceful to solve problems, and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals. We haven’t figured everything out yet, and you’ll be the first person in this role.
