Software Engineer (Growth)

We believe customer obsession builds the best products, so our mission is to ‘enable product teams to make better decisions through the power of customer understanding’. We think what we’re building is an exciting, brand new category of software. Our product-led growth strategy has seen us expand to thousands of customers like VMware, Shopify, GitLab, Porsche, Canva, and more.

Dovetail is growing rapidly and looking for engineers to join our new growth team. We’re building a highly efficient go-to-market model where anyone who wants to understand their customers can adopt, use, and scale Dovetail without any barriers or friction. The growth team works to accelerate this go-to-market model by identifying opportunities to make impactful improvements for our customers and business. The team works to invest in high-leverage ideas that could improve product activation, drive cross-sell, promote user expansion, and increase free to paid conversion.

We’re all about taking big bets, sweating the details on delightful experiences, and tackling ambitious technical and business challenges, so there’s a huge opportunity for your work to have a massive impact and for you to develop insight into all of the pieces that go into scaling revenue at a high-growth software company.

Who you’ll work closely with

Revenue Operations Lead
David Richard
Senior Software Engineer

What you’ll do

  • Join our growth team. You’ll partner closely with your tech lead, product manager, and designer to ship high-leverage features and ideas that are massive force-multipliers for our business. Engineers within our growth team report to our engineering team lead, but you’ll sit within the revenue function.

  • Leverage data to inform opportunities for growth. You’ll leverage data to identify areas where improvements can be made and use this data to inform projects that drive revenue, new customers, retention, and/or engagement.

  • Deliver high-quality software design. You’ll work closely with your tech lead and senior engineers to identify, define, design, and implement technical solutions for Dovetail’s web product, including both frontend and backend development, to create meaningful value for our business.

  • You'll collaborate with your team to sweat the details. You’ll share our passion for quality and you’ll be involved in practices and rituals like code review, pair programming, design sparring, planning, retrospectives, and more.

  • Foster a culture of pragmatism. You’ll maintain and foster a pragmatic approach to software development whilst also working with senior engineers in the establishment of detailed guidelines and standards for product development processes based on industry best practices and your experience.
