Comment and mention others

Start discussions on your research, and pull people into conversations with mentions. Comments can be added to content across the workspace by any manager, contributor or viewer.

How comments work

Comments can be added across project content at the top-level or inline on your pages. When commenting on a page, this will trigger a notification to the user who created what you’re commenting on. Anyone you mention in a comment will also get a notification.

Comments support all formatting and shortcuts, such as text and insert lists, links, attachments, and images. If you start writing a comment and close your browser or navigate away, the draft will still be there when you come back.


Add a comment to a whole page

Managers, contributors, and viewers can top-level comments to address a whole readme, note, tag, or insight page.

  • To add a comment to a note or insight page, hover over page title to surface

    💬 Comment button. Click on this to type and post your comment. The comment will appear at the top of the page in the comment section.

  • To add a comment to a readme page, scroll to the bottom of the page to view the comment section and Add comment.

  • To add a comment to a tag page, click Add comment to type and post your comment.


Add an inline comment to a page

You can add inline comments to the content within notes, tags, insights, and the project readme. To add an inline comment to a specific range of text, highlight the text you want to add a comment to and click 💬 + Add comment button that appears to the right of the editor. From there, you can type your comment and post.


Mention people in comments

Type an 

@
 in a comment to search for any user who can be mentioned. Mentioning a user will send a notification directly to them that can be opened.


Delete a comment

You can delete any comment that you have posted. To do this, hover over your comment to surface and click on ••• (Actions) in the top right corner. From there, select Delete.

At this time, you cannot delete comments posted by other users.
